Construction and property

Carbon accounting for construction and property.

Fuel for plant and vans, electricity for offices and sites, and a long list of materials and subcontractors. Zoru brings it into one data set, priced with UK government (DESNZ) factors, and takes it through review to signed-off reports for your tenders.

For construction and property

What makes it hard, and how Zoru helps.

  • Challenge

Plant, generators and a mixed fleet

Gas oil for plant and generators, diesel for vans, fuel cards for company cars, all in different units.

    How Zoru helps

Scope 1 read from your fuel records

Drop in fuel invoices and fuel card statements. Zoru reads each line, prices diesel and petrol with DESNZ factors and holds anything else for you to check. Bringing your data in

  • Challenge

    Sites that come and go

Offices, yards and project sites all use energy, and the people who know the figures are on site.

    How Zoru helps

Each site with its own editors

Add offices, yards and sites to Zoru, and limit editors to the sites they run. What they enter starts as a draft, counted but marked not yet reviewed, and the year can't be closed until someone has reviewed it. Review and sign-off

  • Challenge

    Materials and subcontractors

Concrete, steel, timber, plant hire and specialist trades are bought from a long list of suppliers.

    How Zoru helps

    Estimated from what you spend

Upload your purchase ledger and Zoru estimates materials, subcontracted work and capital goods from spend. All 15 categories of Scope 3 (the emissions in your supply chain) are listed, each with a figure or a reason. How measuring works

  • Challenge

Tenders ask for a Carbon Reduction Plan

Public-sector bids and main contractors often want a plan, and figures that stand up.

    How Zoru helps

    Signed off, then reported

One data set produces your Carbon Reduction Plan to PPN 006 for any year, alongside SECR, ISO 14064-1 and GRI. The reports

On site and in the office

What Zoru measures across your sites.

  • Plant fuel

Diesel and petrol for plant, priced from fuel invoices and records that give litres. Other fuels, such as gas oil for generators, are held for you to check.

  • Vans and cars

Company vans, trucks and cars, from fuel cards, mileage or a description in your own words. DVLA lookups fill in vehicle details.

  • Offices and yards

Electricity priced location- and market-based. Postcode and EPC lookups fill in a building's floor area, so you can see Scope 1 and 2 intensity in CO₂e (CO₂ equivalent) per m².

Whole-life (embodied) carbon assessments to RICS or BREEAM aren't part of Zoru.
