How it works

From your data to a signed-off report.

Zoru follows the path your data actually takes: bring it in, measure it, review and sign it off, report it, then reduce it.

1Bring your data

Use what you already have. No re-typing.

Zoru reads the documents and spend your finance team already keeps, prices each line and shows you how. Anything unclear is held for you to check, never guessed.

  • Bills, invoices and receiptsPDFs or photos, up to 8 at a time, read by AI and sent to you for review.
  • Spreadsheets and management accountsCSV, Excel or ODS in any column layout. Reconciled to the file, never double counted, with undo.
  • Your own wordsDescribe an activity in English, French, German or Spanish, in any data section.
  • The APIKeys, data in and out, and a published description for your developers.
  • UK public dataCompanies House, EPC, postcode and DVLA lookups fill in the details for you.
2Measure

Scope 1, 2 & 3, priced the same way every time.

Scope 1 is what you burn directly, Scope 2 is the energy you buy and Scope 3 is everything in your supply chain. Zoru covers all three with official UK government factors, and stores the factor and its source on each new entry.

  • Scope 1Fuels, vehicles and refrigerants.
  • Scope 2Location- and market-based, including part-green tariffs backed by evidence and supplier-specific factors.
  • Scope 3All 15 categories listed, each with a figure or a written reason. Spend in other currencies is converted at a stated rate first.
  • Needs a factorAnything Zoru can't price yet is listed, researched by an expert and reviewed before it's used.
  • Data qualityConfidence on every reading, checks for outliers, duplicates, missing months and year-on-year jumps, and an indicative range on the total.
3Review and sign off

Built for assurance, from the first entry.

Nothing reaches a report until someone has approved it, and every change is recorded in a history that can't be edited.

  • Drafts until reviewedEvery entry starts as a draft. Only review approves it, with an optional second reviewer.
  • Year closeClose the year on one review screen, then approve numbered report versions that can't change.
  • Evidence on every entryAttach the files behind each figure. Reports show evidence coverage by category.
  • Tamper-evident historyEvery change is time-stamped. You can see it and export it.
  • Verifier accessGive an external verifier access for a set period to comment and sign off.
  • Base year and restatementRecord your base year. Changes over 5% are restated and logged automatically.
4Report

Four reports from one data set, ready to approve.

Write, save, approve and print each one. All are built on the GHG Protocol Corporate and Value Chain Standards.

  • SECRLive

The Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting disclosure for your annual report.

  • ISO 14064-1Live

A greenhouse gas inventory report set out to the ISO 14064-1 structure.

  • GRILive

A GRI content index for your emissions disclosures.

  • CRPLive

A Carbon Reduction Plan to PPN 006 for any year, with your own branding. PPN 006 took over from PPN 06/21 for procurements started from 24 February 2025.

  • CSRD · ESRS E1Checklist

A readiness checklist showing what you still need for the climate standard. Zoru does not produce CSRD reports.

  • CDPChecklist

A readiness checklist for a CDP climate response. Zoru does not submit to CDP.

Reports also has a green claims check: test a claim you want to make against your own figures and the UK Green Claims Code.

5Reduce

A target, a plan and proof it's working.

  • One target, used everywhere

SBTi-aligned 1.5°C or well-below 2°C targets, calculated to the SBTi's published criteria. Net zero only if you choose it. Validation itself is done by the SBTi.

  • AI action plans with owners

Each action shows the estimated saving, a cost range and the payback. Owners carry over to next year, so nothing drops off.

  • Estimated against measured

See estimated, reported and measured reductions side by side, and intensity per m², per member of staff, per unit of output and per £m turnover, site by site.

Groups, sites and people

Set up the way your organisation is.

  • Groups and subsidiaries

Link subsidiaries with their consent and produce one group report.

  • Divisions and sites

Organise by division and site, with intensity and ranking for each site.

  • Roles that fit

Limit editors to their own sites. Every role change is logged.

FAQ

Common questions

Something else? Talk to us.

Which emission factors does Zoru use?

Official UK government (DESNZ) factors, updated every year and locked to your reporting year, plus one UK spend database for Scope 3. Sites in the UK, Pakistan and Türkiye use their national grid figure. Electricity in other countries is held for review rather than priced on the wrong grid.

Does Zoru connect to Xero or our accounting software?

There are no accounting connectors today. Upload your ledger exports or management accounts instead, at any size, or send data through the API.

Which AI does Zoru use?

Zoru uses Anthropic's Claude models with its own instructions. Zoru does not train AI models.

What if the AI reads something wrong?

Every reading carries a confidence level and the reasons for it. Lines Zoru isn't sure about are held, not guessed, and nothing counts until someone reviews it. Correct a line once and Zoru remembers.

Can our verifier see the data?

Yes. Give a verifier access for a set period. They can look through entries and evidence, comment and sign off.
